Audio-Visual (AV) Technician

Under the supervision of the LRC Coordinator and in close coordination with the faculty and library staff, the AV Technician is responsible for the development and use of the Audio Visual collection and services.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Takes charge of set-up and operation of reserved AV equipment for teachers, staff, students and other library users;
2. Participates in the preparation and evaluation of LRC Action Plan;
3. Assists in training the faculty and staff in the use of multimedia equipment;
4. Assists in the library orientation of students, faculty and staff;
5. Issues AV materials and equipment needed for approved reservations and other services;
6. Monitors the schedule and use of all AV rooms, projection rooms and classrooms in coordination with the AV librarian;
7. Maintains all computers in the AV rooms, projection rooms and classrooms;
8. Participates in the library collection development by recommending AV materials and equipment for acquisition as well as weeding out;
9. Repairs minor AV equipment and coordinates with other AV equipment centers for major repairs;
10. Prepares reports on the maintenance of all equipment (e.i. brand and model, serial number, purchase price, repairs made etc.);
11. Keeps track of all spare parts used for AV equipment;
12. Assists in the preparation of necessary records of the AV services including monthly statistics;
13. Prepares inventory of AV equipment;
14. Participates in the different reading activities such as AEP, BOB, Read-a-thon etc.;
15. Participates in the evaluation of AV services and programs;
16. Participates in the library budget preparation;
17. Keeps abreast of current trends in Information Technology and Audio Visual Services;
18. Maintains order and cleanliness in the AV Center working area;
19. Implements all AV Center rules and regulations;
20. Enforces LRC rules and regulations;
21. Performs other related tasks as assigned.

For: LRC Program and Services

Minimum Qualifications:
* Graduate of a four year course
* At least two (2) years work experience in the Learning Resource Centre
* Computer Literate
