Athletics Coordinator (Higher Education Division-HED)

Reports to : The Dean of Student Affairs
Supervises : The Varsity Coaches and student athletes

Appointed by : The School President upon the recommendations of the A-team
The Athletics Coordinator assists the Dean of Student Affairs in supervising and coordinating all varsity sports activities in campus and off campus. He/She works with the varsity coaches and student athletes in the alignment of its programs with the Institutional Vision, Mission, Objectives and Core Values. He/She conceptualizes the Assumption Sport Development Program. He/She acts as the official school representatives in the different sport organization like WNCAA and WCSA.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prepares the Higher Education Division- Sports Development Program;
  2. Recommends the appointment of Varsity Team Coaches and the confirmation of the Team Captains for all varsity teams to the Dean of Student Affairs;
  3. Coordinates with the Team coaches in the supervision and evaluation of the varsity teams by:
    1. Scheduling team practices and tournaments of the different varsity teams
    2. Observing regularly varsity team practices, games, and tournaments
    3. Conducting regular meetings with varsity team coaches
    4. Monitoring team practices, games, attendance of coaches
  4. Assess and clears with the Admissions, Academic Chairpersons applicants to varsity team.
  5. Prepares the annual budget for the sports program
  6. Represents the school in interscholastic tournament organizational meetings
  7. Plans and implements the formation program for the coaches
  8. Submits the following at the end of the school year:
    1. Action plan evaluation (term or year-end evaluation report)
    2. Financial Report of the Sports Development Fund
    3. Budget Proposal for the coming school year
    4. Evaluation of team coaches and varsity teams
  9. Recommends policies that will help improve performance of the Student-Athletes and
    Varsity Coaches
  10. Performs other tasks related to his/her position and as a member of the Student
    Formation Team.

Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in related course
· At least two (2) years of work experience in student formation / sports
· Has student leadership experience as organization head or its equivalent
· Computer literate.

Term: 1 year subject to re-appointment.
